Siemens Energy has received an order from the Korean company Samsung Engineering Co. Ltd. for five compressor trains, which will be employed in an air separation plant operated by Air Products in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. Siemens will deliver two model STC-GV integrally geared main air compressors, two model STC-GC compact nitrogen compressors and a booster air compressor for the air separation plant. The five compressors, which are manufactured in Duisburg, will each be driven by an electric motor. The air separation plant where compressor trains will be installed, will supply industrial gases such as oxygen and nitrogen to a number of petrochemical plants in Al Jubail. 28 compressor trains from Siemens are already in operation in a variety of applications at Al Jubail.
