DNV GL secures inspection campaign
The contract, which carries an option for two, two-year extensions, initially applies to the Maria oil and gas field project in the Norwegian Sea. Maria is in 300-350 m (984-1,148 ft) of water in the Haltenbanken region. It will be developed using subsea facilities tied via rigid flowlines and flexible risers to the Kristin semisubmersible platform, with gas lift supplied from Åsgard B via Tyrihans and sulphate-reduced seawater supplied with injection pressure from Heidrun.
Wintershall expects to produce around 188 MMboe,
with first oil in fall 2018. Additionally, DNV GL will examine contractor’s procedures, documents, quality performance, and compliance with governing standards and specifications. It plans to perform inspection and surveillance at various locations in Germany, Greece, Italy, Norway and Malaysia, where subsea equipment components and structures will be manufactured. DNV GL is also the sole supplier for the combined role of independent verification body and third-party design verification scope for the subsea, umbilicals, risers, and flowlines for Maria
