BASF on its way to becoming a leading chemical partner
for the oilfield industry

- BASF offers a comprehensive portfolio to the oilfield service industry
- In Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), BASF provides innovative solutions
- to address demanding field conditions

13.10.2011 + + + — BASF presents its broad range of innovative products for oil and gas production at the SPE’s Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition: Solutions for energy resources development, oil and gas exploration, production and Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR). BASF offers a comprehensive portfolio of products to the oilfield service companies combined with technical know-how and reliable supply of high-quality products, covering applications for

           Drilling  (Alcomer ® , Polydrill ® )
           Cementing  (Polytrol ® , Liquiment ® ),
           Stimulation  (Alcomer ® , Basocorr ® )
Production  (Basoflux ® , Luvicap ® for flow assurance
and Basorol ®  for oil/water separation)

A major growth sector is Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) through innovative surfactants and polymers which are designed to support EOR operations under demanding field conditions. BASF’s next generation polymers and surfactants have been developed especially for high salinity and high temperature fields.

“This will be the first significant appearance at a U.S. trade fair for BASF’s Oilfield Chemicals business,” said Denise Joost, North American Regional Business Director. “With the acquisitions of Degussa Construction Chemicals and Engelhard in 2006, Ciba in 2009, and Cognis in 2010, BASF has grown to become a global player in this important market segment. We have the people, products and technologies to be a valued innovation partner for our customers to help them be more successful.”

BASF is committed to innovation in the oil and gas sector. BASF Oilfield Chemicals can help find chemical solutions for any challenge in all fields of oilfield production. Over many decades BASF has developed a broad product portfolio and has built strong expertise in providing chemical solutions to many industries. As the leading chemical company, BASF is leveraging this expertise to find solutions to address oilfield specific challenges. The pillars of its innovation concept for the oilfield industry are: joint customer projects, leveraging successful R&D, and technical service projects. BASF understands the oilfield industry needs and translates them into recommendations for the most efficient use of its chemistry.
