Haidach Natural Gas Underground Storage Facility - 2nd stage of expansion completed
30.01.2011 + + + The 2nd stage of the Haidach underground gas storage facility has been handed over by Chemieanlagenbau Chemnitz GmbH (CAC) to the consortium of RAG / WINGAS / GAZPROM export.
The plant was erected and commissioned on time schedule.
Besides additional storage wells the extension of the Haidach facilities includes two additional compressor units as well as two additional gas drying units with all required auxiliary units.
Main attention was paid to a high flexibility of the whole plant.
The 2nd stage of extension was implemented under full operation of the existing units.
The mechanical completion of the Haidach underground storage facility was achieved at the end of 2010. From 01 April 2011, the facility - with its working gas volume of 2.64 billion Nm³ - will play a central role in the supply of gas to Austria and Europe.
