CROSCO to begin drilling in Kurdistan region of Iraq 04.05.2011 + + + Rotary Drilling Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Zagreb, Croatia-based CROSCO Integrated Drilling & Well Services Co. Ltd., said April 11 that it would begin providing drilling services for Kalegran Limited in the Kurdistan region of northern Iraq. Kalegran is a subsidiary of MOL Hungarian Oil and Gas Company. Drilling services are being provided with a rotary 2000 HP drilling rig, Rotary 67. The Bekhme 1 well, the first of a two-well contract, is being drilled in the Akre-Bijeel Block, Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Igor Vrban, president of CROSCO commented, “CROSCO is very pleased to be established in the Kurdish region of Iraq and to be providing drilling services to Kalegran. CROSCO’s subsidiary, Rotary, has established a branch office in Erbil and is actively pursuing drilling and oilfield service projects in the country and soon expects to mobilize additional equipment. The Kurdish region of Iraq and the entire country is a prime strategic growth pillar for CROSCO.” CROSCO is an integrated onshore and offshore drilling and well services contractor. The company has a fleet of 66 drilling, workover, and geoservices rigs as well as one semisubmersible and one jackup. CROSCO is 100% owner of Hungarian based Rotary Drilling Company. Rotary’s drilling fleet includes eight drilling rigs, and the company also provides workover and other well services, including well testing, coil tubing, nitrogen, cementing, stimulation, logging, mud, coring, fishing, and directional drilling. CROSCO, which has provided drilling and related oilfield services since 1958, operates in 34 countries around the world, including Oman, Syria, Egypt, Libya, Turkey, Albania, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, and the Kurdish region of Iraq. The company has ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certification from Bureau Veritas Certification Croatia, and is a member of the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) and the International Well Control Forum.
