EnQuest: Jumbo to tow and install North Sea FPSO

EnQuest has awarded Jumbo an FPSO installation contract for the Alma/Galia development in the UK northern North Sea. he scope covers the mooring spread, FPSO tow out, and hookup.

This will be Jumbo’s first offshore project as main contractor.

The Alma and Galia fields are in blocks 30/24, 30/25, and 30/29, 310 km (192 mi) southeast of Aberdeen. They will be brought onstream next year using the FPSO EnQuest Producer (ex-Uisge Gorm), which is undergoing refurbishment at a repair yard in Hamburg, Germany.
Jumbo’s heavy-lift vessel Fairplayer will install the chain/wire mooring lines for the floater in mid-2013, and perform the work in DP-2 mode.

Additionally, Jumbo will fabricate and install the anchor piles; tow the FPSO from Hamburg to the offshore location; and perform connection and final tensioning of the mooring legs. www.enquest.com
