Reorganisation at Ferrostaal
New Division structure and reduced size of the Executive Board

15.08.2011 + + + As part of the strategic reorientation of Ferrostaal AG, the company is streamlining its organisation. The Executive Board will be reduced from five to four members. Prof. Dr. Stephan Reimelt (54), who was responsible for the project business, will leave the company by mutual amicable agreement by 15 August 2011 after working successfully as a member of the Executive Board. The eight core business units will be concentrated into five operative divisions. Three divisions will focus on the plant and projects business (EPC – Engineering, Procurement and Construction), the machine trade business and the associated service business are covered by one division, and the business with assembly services for large car manufacturers and suppliers is being dealt with in another.

A new head has been appointed for each of the three divisions in the project and plant business, directly reporting to the Chief Executive Officer Jan Secher. The “Petrochemicals” Division is managed by Dr. Kaspar Evertz (52). The “Power & Solar” Division is led by Klaus Zink (55). The “Industrial Plants” Division is headed by Dr. Stefan Bürkle (42).

“We are pleased to have taken on board Stefan Bürkle, Kaspar Evertz and Klaus Zink for our project business, each of whom is a proven expert in his field. The Executive and Supervisory Boards would like to thank Professor Reimelt for his services to Ferrostaal in a challenging market environment,” says Jan Secher, Chief Executive Officer of Ferrostaal.

The three new division heads all have many years’ experience in the EPC business. Kaspar Evertz, who has a PhD in chemistry, was at LyondellBasell Industries, the world’s largest producer of and technology provider for polypropylene and polyethylene, from the year 2000. His most recent post there was as Vice President Licensing, leading the global licence business for polyolefin and chemical technologies. Klaus Zink studied mechanical engineering at Graz University of Applied Sciences and has worked for the AE&E group, where he was Chief Operating Officer and member of the Board, since 1983. After completing his degree and PhD in chemical process engineering, Stefan Bürkle began his career at Linde AG and was then, as Vice President LNG Project & Operations and Head of LNG Technology & Project Management, responsible for all activities in the liquid gas sector at E.ON Ruhrgas AG.
