Siemens names new head to oil and gas sales unit
Karim Amin became the head of the Siemens Oil&Gas sales unit

Feb 19, 2014  + + +  Karim Amin, 36, became the head of the Siemens Oil & Gas (SOG) sales unit on February 1, 2014. He has been managing Siemens Energy Service with over 1,000 employees since 2011, and was responsible for business operations in the Middle East and in North Africa.

Karim Amin studied at Cairo University and received his degree in electrical engineering in 2000. In 2011 he earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Warwick Business School in Great Britain. Amin has been employed at Siemens since 2001; during this time, he has occupied a variety of management positions in the areas of strategy, sales, and marketing. Amin speaks fluent Arabic and English as well as German.

The SOG sales unit is based in Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates, and functions as a central sales interface to key customers in the global oil and gas industry. Furthermore SOG strives to cooperate with customers in joint innovation processes, with the goal of finding and developing technology based answers to even the most demanding challenges of the oil and gas industry.
