Siemens AG:
One year after Fukushima – Germany's path to a new energy policy

07.03.2012   + + +  A year has passed since the devastating earthquake and nuclear catastrophe in Japan. Fukushima gave a face to the risks of nuclear power. And that has changed the opinions about nuclear power in Germany and elsewhere. In Germany, political decisions have given the country a new energy policy. But in terms of implementation, most of the work still lies ahead. How Germany tackles these challenges will be closely observed worldwide. The new energy policy can succeed and offers an opportunity for Germany if the necessary prerequisites can be achieved. It can unleash a surge of innovation, create a model power infrastructure and further strengthen the exports of technologies for climate protection and environmental protection. Siemens' technologies can make a major contribution to the implementation of the energy policy.
