Statoil gets consent for Skuld offshore field

Statoil has received consent to use production facilities with associated pipelines and equipment on the Skuld field in the Norwegian Sea.

Skuld is an oil field located in the Norwegian Sea, north of Norne and approx. 200 km west of Sandnessjøen. The field is part of production licence 128, where Statoil is the operator. Water depth in the area is approx. 340 metres.

The field was developed with three subsea templates that are tied in to Norne FPSO. The development also includes two pipelines for gas lift and water injection on the Urd field, which is located between Skuld and Norne.

Statoil is planning to start production from Skuld on 20 December 2012. The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has now granted consent to use the subsea facilities with associated equipment in accordance with Statoil’s application
