TMK Confirms Compliance of Large Diameter Pipes Made from Russian Steel with DNV Standard for Offshore Pipelines

14.01.2011 + + + TMK, one of the world’s leading oil and gas steel pipe producers, has completed certification that its large diameter pipes made from domestically rolled steel products are in compliance with the DNV-OS-F101 standard for offshore pipelines.

The presentation of this certificate of compliance was the result of collaboration between TMK and MMK, Russia’s largest producer of flat products for large diameter pipes.

While not the first DNV certificate that the Company has received – TMK had previously certified pipes produced only from imported steel – the new certificate confirms the quality of large diameter pipes produced at the Volzhsky Pipe Plant from Russian rolled steel products.

“Obtaining this DNV certificate gives TMK a wider opportunity to take part in offshore projects by replacing expensive imports with pipes made from Russian steel,” said TMK CEO Alexander Shiryaev.
