Saipem wins EPIC contracts worth more than $1B

15.06.2011 + + + Italian oilfield services firm Saipem has been awarded engineering, construction and offshore installation contracts in Egypt, the North Sea and Russia totaling more than $1 billion.

EPIC Work Offshore Egypt

Offshore Egypt, Burullus Gas Company awarded Saipem the Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Construction (EPIC) contract for the subsea development of the West Delta Deep Marine Concession.

Located about 90 kilometers offshore the Northwest Nile Delta in waters measuring between 400 and 1,000 meters deep, the subsea development includes seven new subsea wellheads, umbilicals and flowlines. The Saipem FDS vessel will perform the installation work. The new subsea development will be integrated with existing infrastructure in the area, on which Saipem has already completed two earlier development phases at the West Delta Marine Concession.

North Sea Installation Work

In the North Sea, Saipem has been contracted for work offshore Norway and the UK. The contracts include platform transportation and installation to be carried out by the Saipem 7000 vessel, as well as the installation of subsea pipeline and related structures to be carried out by the Castoro 7 vessel.

Russian Pipeline Contract

Offshore Russia, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) has awarded Saipem the contract to expand the CPC marine export terminal on the shores of the Black Sea near Yuhznaya Ozereyevka in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation.

The contract involves the engineering, procurement and installation of a new 42-inch-diameter, 5-kilometer-long offshore export pipeline, as well as the installation of a new offshore mooring system for hydrocarbon export. These developments will be carried out by the S355 vessel in the second half of 2012.

Additionally, Saipem has increased its scope of work on existing contracts in the Caspian Sea and the Gulf of Mexico.
