Siemens concludes framework agreement with Enel Green Power for 260 wind turbines Under the supply agreement, Siemens will deliver different types of wind turbines, rated at either 2.3 or 3.6 MW, featuring rotor diameters between 82 and 107 meters. The turbines will be deployed at onshore wind power plants in Italy, France, the Iberian Peninsula, Greece Romania and Bulgaria. The scope of supply also includes the delivery, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines as well as a service agreement.
Wind power is part of Siemens’ Environmental Portfolio. In fiscal 2009, revenue from the Portfolio totaled about EUR23 billion, making Siemens the world’s largest supplier of ecofriendly technologies. In the same period, the company’s products and solutions enabled customers to reduce their CO2 emissions by 210 million tons. This amount equals the combined annual CO2 emissions of New York, Tokyo, London and Berlin.
