The
World LNG Market Forecast 2016 - 2020
Dec 22, 2015 + + + Capital expenditure (Capex) on LNG facilities has risen
substantially in recent years, mostly due to growth in the global economy
which has been driving demand for natural gas. Douglas-Westwood (DW)
forecasts that this trend is set to continue with total expenditure on
global LNG facilities expected to reach $241bn between 2016 and 2020 ...

Steady FPSO capex foreseen for near term
June 10, 2015 + + + Visiongain calculates the
global capex on newbuild and converted FPSOs will be $8.65 billion this
year. The South American and West African
regions will see the highest investments due to recent ultra-deepwater
presalt discoveries. Other regions such as Southeast Asia have potential
as more countries strive to balance diminishing onshore output with the
development of new offshore reservoirs. This level of capex is predicted
based on the low rate of onshore discoveries and technological advances
enabling deepwater and ultra-deepwater exploration and production. Going
forward, however, Visiongain expects the drop in oil prices and the
completion of current FPSO application work will change market dynamics
and reduce growth starting in two years. Even so, the market will attract
“significant spending” for the next 10 years so long as oil prices remain
high enough to warrant investments.

Subsea
capex of $145 billion predicted for 2015-2019
June 8, 2015 + + +
Douglas-Westwood forecasts global subsea hardware capex will total $145
billion between 2015 and 2019. This would be 27% above the preceding
five-year period. The 350 subsea tree installations in 2014 represent the
highest volume of installed units on record, a trend expected to continue
until 2018 when lower orders due to the current commercial environment
will drive a decline in trees installed ... Subsea production equipment,
SURF, and pipelines each attract approximately one-third of all
expenditures by component, with higher capacity and capability equipment a
theme throughout the sector. The development of remote fields, the
addition of new project phases and the tieback of satellite fields into
subsea hubs continue to support SURF expenditure over the forecast period

April 20, 2015 + + + Demand for offshore
modifications, maintenance, and operations (MMO) services totaled $95
billion last year for the world’s 8,061 offshore platforms, according to
analyst Douglas-Westwood. DW expects spending in this sector to increase
by 5.4% during 2015-2019, driven largely by ageing infrastructure
requiring maintenance and modification to sustain production levels ...

INFIELD SYSTEMS review North Sea Well Intervention Market
|
2015-Feb-04 + + + Well intervention projects remain a top fiscal and
operational priority for operators in the North Sea. To borrow a well-used
phrase, “the days of easy oil are over.” Well intervention has become a
critical feature of the future profitability of brownfield assets as
operators seek to extend economic production for as long as possible.
Operators are developing programmes to ensure that mature wells retain
economic recovery rates and maintenance work is executed to ensure
integrity. This activity is driving growth and the global intervention and
workover market is set to increase from an estimated value of $9.97bn to
$17.48bn in 2018 ... see also
